Kelly Says Invest in Education

Ruth Kelly, Secretary for Education and Skills, is issuing a challenge to other Education ministers in the European Union that it is time to start a process of heavy investment in education and skills.
London hosted an assembly of Education ministers this week, where Ms Kelly stressed the importance of education to the EU economy, improving employment opportunities within the bloc and remaining competitive with external markets. The proposed initiative will seek to build upon the Lisbon Agenda, an agreement made in 2000 by EU members to meet agreed targets in education.
