LSDA Launches Teaching and Learning Communities Website

A new interactive website called the Teaching and Learning Communities (TLC) was launched yesterday, at the second annual conference of the Learning and Skills Development Agency in Northern Ireland.
The site will essentially be used as a communications tool, allowing staff to share their expertise and ideas in order to help them improve their practice and to ensure what works best. “TLC will help teachers to develop their skills and improve the overall quality of education,” commented Trevor Carson, Director of LSDA.
The portal will be free for all staff working in colleges in Northern Ireland, providing chat rooms and personalised email alerts, as well as downloadable material for teaching and professional development. However, the main focus will be providing resources for essential skills, leadership and management.
A road show in May will introduce the system to staff in Northern Ireland Colleges. For more information, log on to teachingandlearning.org
