Sheffield College tutor invited to No. 10.

One of Tony Blair’s last jobs as Prime Minister will be to welcome Sheffield College catering legend Mick Burke to Number 10 Downing Street.
Mick received the surprise invitation to join Tony and Cherie Blair at a reception on Wednesday 13 June to thank front line workers for their role in delivering excellence in public services.
Still in the dark about who put his name forward for the prestigious gathering, Mick said; “I was absolutely over the moon and one of the first things that sprung to mind was just how proud my parents would be if they were still here.
“Over the last 28 years I must have taught literally thousand of young people at the college who have gone on to become professional chefs. This is a huge privilege and I am very much looking forward to the event.”
