West Cheshire College Set To Launch BTEC National in Vocal Theatre

West Cheshire College are set to launch a BTEC National Diploma in “Vocal Theatre” to help aspiring singers pursue a career in acting.

The brand new Performing Arts course has been created in response to the demand from singers who wish to work in theatre, radio, presenting and as a voice over artist. The course is to be introduced after the successful launch of a Musical Theatre Diploma at the college, which focuses on singing and dancing.

“Our Musical Theatre course has been a hit with students who want careers singing and dancing on stage in productions like Chicago,” explained tutor Sharon Brown. The course has enabled former students to enrol at The Hammond School, whilst others have gone into a successful stage career.

The Vocal Theatre course will allow students to get the best advice from experienced professionals from the industry, who will help them to make the most of their voices in order to forge a career on stage and in the media. Applicants will be expected to have a strong singing voice and some acting experience. They will be required to sing a song of their choice and recite a piece at an audition before being formally accepted on the course.
