From education to employment

I got a 3-course meal for only £10, here’s how…

Love Food, Hate Waste

The Seasons Restaurant, based at Cambridge Regional College, have unveiled their brand new ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ menu. This menu has been extensively crafted and curated with some of our country’s biggest challenges in mind. Every year nearly 2 million tonnes of perfectly edible food is wasted and over 7 million people in the UK struggle to eat.

Roasted Carrot, Courgette Ribbons, Courgette & Cheese Fritter, Carrot Crisps,
Aubergine Puree & Pickled Carrot

Our team of junior chefs decided to rise to the challenge and create a menu utilizing full nose to tail cooking methods, making use of every part of the animal and plant, in order to tingle the taste buds and delight the senses. But this is more than just a fancy buzzword, it’s a way for our tutors to teach our learners about sustainability, introduce them to workplace thinking that will propel them forward in their career & finally, reacting to market trends. Being able to utilize every part of food will allow them to increase their profit margins, think more creatively and produce Michelin-star quality from what is typically considered waste.

Handmade Profiteroles with Chantilly Cream

For only £10 per person, Monday – Thursday, you will be treated to a 3-course meal that changes daily to whatever market options allow. On Fridays for only £6, you can get access to a buffet, with a wide range of selection from the previous week’s menus.

To book your table at The Seasons Restaurant you can either book directly here, you can email [email protected] or give them a call on 01223 418200. The Seasons restaurant can be found at The Park, Kings Hedges Rd, Milton, Cambridge CB4 2QT, with free parking available, just let your server know and they will waive the normal parking fee.
