Schools could be asked to ditch contracts with Russian gas companies

Paul Whiteman

Commenting on reports that schools with contracts for gas supply from Russian companies may have to terminate them,

Paul Whiteman, general secretary of school leaders’ union, NAHT said,

“Given that the Health Secretary has today been reported as telling the NHS to stop using energy supplied by this company, we would assume that the government will also be removing them from the school switch service immediately.

“Rapidly rising energy prices are undoubtedly having a significant impact on schools and it looks as though this situation could well be about to get worse. As such, it’s incumbent on the  government to step in and provide the support that schools need in this area.”
