BAE Systems Tops Apprentice Employers Table 2018-2019 For The First Time

RateMyApprenticeship’s Top 100 Apprentice Employers Table 2018-19 has just been announced, with BAE Systems rising to the top spot from second place last year.

The rankings, based on over 4,200 reviews from apprentices, incorporate ratings from a variety of different school leaver opportunities, including apprenticeships (from Level 2 to Level 7), traineeships and work experience schemes.

The reviews that build the Top 100 Employers Table ask young people a number of different questions relating to their apprenticeship programme; from the amount of responsibility they are given to the training and development opportunities they receive as well as how valued they feel by the company.

The global defense, security and aerospace systems employer topped the Table, with 99% of their apprentices answering “yes” to the question “Would you recommend your programme to a friend?”

Joining BAE Systems at the top of the Table are electricity and gas utility company, National Grid in 2nd place and construction company BAM Nuttall, coming in as a new entrant to the Table straight into 3rd position, with the BBC close behind in 4th place.

Ollie Sidwell, Co-founder at RateMyApprenticeship.co.uk commented: “The Top 100 Employers Table celebrates forward-thinking companies leading the way in apprenticeships and work experience schemes for school and college leavers.”

He adds, “a huge congratulations goes out to BAE Systems for being recognised by their apprentices as this year’s winner. With the Table based solely on the honest feedback of young people on apprenticeships and work experience schemes, this is an incredible achievement!”
