BCoT showcases #EdTech expertise with further education leaders

As a recognised pioneer for innovative technology in teaching and learning, Basingstoke College of Technology’s (BCoT) recent ‘Showcasing Learning Resources’ event drew industry leaders from across the further education (FE) sector.

Joined by fellow tech innovators, BCoT shared their expertise on how the use of technology has transformed both the student and teacher experience.

The event, supported by the Association of Colleges (AoC), JISC, Century Tech, GVS and organised by education cloud specialists C-Learning, gave the FE leaders an insight into the difference educational technology could make to their institutions.

Having won awards for their use of technology in the classrooms, the experts at BCoT demonstrated how proven edtech can make a significant difference.

By embedding technology in all areas of the college they have successfully streamlined processes, reduced workloads, enhanced learner engagement and enabled the personalisation of teaching and learning.

BCoT Principal and Chief Executive Anthony Bravo said:

As an official Google Reference School BCoT is recognised by Google for their outstanding use of technology to drive personal learning outcomes. In keeping with the college’s ethos, learning is also personalised using tech, and digital skills are now integrated and embedded into all lessons.

BCoT teachers use a range of digital tools including Google Classroom, AI software, YouTube, 3D printers, 360 cameras and VR headsets. The aim is simple, to prepare all students for employment or study outside of further education by integrating digital skills into all lessons such as accurate research skills, digital reputation and independent learning.

The next stage in BCoT’s technology drive is the forthcoming opening of a new digital centre called the Learning Hub.
