College Student Awarded 3rd Place in Prestigious Dental Award Ceremony

HNC in Health and Social Care student Ludy Sanchez, from Waltham Forest College came third out of a whopping 899 dental participants competing for the Dental Nurse of the Year 2016 category in The Dental Awards ceremony held this year.

The Dental Awards are the original and most respected awards programme in UK dentistry. For the past 17 years The Dental Awards have recognised the outstanding individuals and teams whose commitment and drive continues to raise standards throughout UK dentistry.

According to the organisers, the awards which took place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham was the biggest and best Dental Awards to date. Almost 1,000 applicants entered the competition with hopes of winning one or more categories such as, Dental Hygienist of the Year, Oral Health Promoter of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year and National Dental Team of the Year.

Ludy works part-time at 25 Devonshire Place Dental Practice in Central London, and will be completing her course HNC course this year. She decided to nominate herself for the award after being encouraged by her employer.

She said: “Winning or being a finalist is a tremendous accolade that can do wonders for my career. It makes me feel more valued. I’m really pleased to have been placed third out of 899 applicants across the UK.”
