From education to employment

EPAO approved to assess PR and Communications Assistant

1st for EPA, an end point assessment organisation, has been approved to assess the Public Relations and Communications Assistant level 4 apprenticeship standard.

The EPAO, which launched its apprentice assessment service in early 2020, offers a collaborative approach to assessment, working with training providers to support employers and apprentices through end point assessment. Combined with remote assessment, online scheduling and the time-saving ACE360 system, the EPAO is quickly changing the face of assessment.

End point assessment (EPA) for PR and Communications Assistant includes a multiple-choice knowledge test, followed by a work-based project. Apprentices then write a project report and carry out a short presentation before having a Q&A with an assessor.

Managing Director Helen Shinner said: “We’re thrilled to add the PR and Comms standard to our offer. We already assess all the marketing standards so PR and Communications fits nicely with our field if expertise. 1st for EPA will bring our simple approach to EPA to this standard and do all we can to support apprentices, training providers and employers through end point assessment.”

1st for EPA’s support includes advice on what to expect from EPA, how to prepare and tips for best practice. The 1st for EPA team is available by phone, email or video call to provide guidance on how the EPA process works.

1st for EPA is now accepting registrations for PR and Communications Assistant apprentices as well as all marketing, digital marketing, HR and business admin standards.
