Fantastic success for students collecting GCSE results at South Staffordshire College

South Staffordshire College is delighted to announce GCSE results success again this year with lots of students at South Staffordshire College celebrating top grades.  

Lichfield College had fantastic success with overall pass rate exceeding the national average at 94%.

A special mention to Lichfield College students Myron Evans who achieved grade 7 (equivalent to an A) in English, Madeline Patel achieving grade 6 (equivalent to a B) in English and Kiera Miller who achieved grade 7 (equivalent to an A) in English and grade 5 in mathematics.

Congratulations to Rodbaston College students Toni Garfield and Ben Nicholls who both achieved grade 5 in English.

We’re hugely proud of all students and would like to extend a big congratulations to all collecting their GCSE results today.

“Employers and universities take English and mathematics very seriously and it is a top priority at South Staffordshire College. English and mathematics form a mandatory part of our study programmes and we’re committed to helping our students progress their abilities in these subjects during their time with us. 

“We’re are thrilled that so many students who have taken their GCSEs with us this year have achieved such positive results. I am proud of the support our learners have been given to achieve their best possible outcome from our staff community. We wish our students every success as they continue their journey.” 

South Staffordshire College welcome thousands of students to their campuses in Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock and Rodbaston each year, all of whom study towards a wide range of qualifications in subjects such as landbased engineering, photography, animal care, IT, hair and beauty, business, creative arts, health and social care, engineering and many more.

With opportunities available from full time courses, and apprenticeships, to part time study and community-based courses, there really is something for everyone at South Staffordshire College, whatever your starting point we can help you to achieve your career aspirations. 

The College offers a range of free English and maths qualifications for adults aged 19 plus who are looking to gain the prerequisite skills to progress their education or career. Delivered on a part time or remote learning basis, the courses are ideal for those who want to gain the skills that many employers demand.
