Gi Group UK Marks NAW with 3000th Apprenticeship

Recruitment specialist, Gi Group UK, has extra reason to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2017 having recently completed its 3000th apprenticeship in the UK.

Indeed, with the latest batch of graduates, Gi Group UK’s total number of courses delivered reaches 3108 since it began its work with apprentices in 2009. Initially offering a single course, Gi Group UK has subsequently established its own Employability, Skills and Learning (ESL) division which is one of only 90 large employers to hold direct contract with the Skills Funding Agency.

The ESL team works with the awarding bodies, Ofsted, SFA and clients to ensure that the Apprenticeship Programmes are of the highest quality, maximising the potential of the temporary workers in the best interests of both the individual and the employer.

The company’s Apprentice Programme has a 88% apprentice satisfaction rate – with 94% securing ongoing or permanent work – either with Gi Group UK or its clients on completion of their apprenticeship. Gi Group UK is recognised as a Grade 2 Ofsted rated training provider.

Gi Group UK’s Head of ESL, Kate Maddison-Greenwell said:

“We are delighted to have now completed over 3000 apprentices. It is a magnificent figure to achieve in a short space of time.

“It is extremely rewarding to have directly impacted the career prospects of so many people and the experience we have gained as an organisation is going to be hugely important as more and more businesses look for support with the Apprenticeship Levy looming.

“Since its inception our scheme has gone from strength to strength – gaining SFA support, an Ofsted Grade 2 rating and establishing the dedicated Employability, Skills and Learning (ESL) division. We are very proud of the quality of our Apprenticeship Programmes and our apprentices, and look forward to delivering many more successful programmes over the coming years.”

The Gi Group UK ESL division boasts a dedicated team of 17 Trainers, Assessors, Internal Quality Assessors and Programme Facilitators, as well as a central back office support team. This team works alongside the Gi Group UK branch and SMS networks to support each apprentice through their course; providing training and guidance at each step.

Current Apprenticeship Programmes include:

  •       -Business Improvement Techniques
  •       -Customer Service
  •       -Improving Operational Performance
  •       -Management
