The 17-year-old from Marske has created a design for supermarket giant Morrisons, which will be used on their bags for life to raise money for CLIC Sargent,  the leading charity for young cancer patients and their families, and Morrison’s charity partner

Enna was diagnosed with a brain tumour at just 7 years-old when an optician noticed swelling behind her eye. After having brain surgery and receiving lengthy treatment she is in remission and has now been cancer free for six years.

During this challenging time Enna and her family were supported by the charity CLIC Sargent, which offered help and support throughout her treatment and recovery.

Last year Enna was invited by the charity to attend a ‘design day’ at Morrisons’ head office in Bradford. During this day, Enna and other cancer patients designed a bag to raise funds for the charity.

Enna’s design features words such as ‘hope, love and unity’ to signify her inspirational battle with cancer and feelings towards CLIC Sargent.

After being invited back for a second design meeting, Enna’s artwork has been finalised and is now featured on a new version of the environmentally friendly canvas bag, which is now on sale in Morrison’s stores across the country

Aspiring set designer, Enna, who is currently studying Level 3 Production Arts at Middlesbrough College, said;

“I was delighted when I found out my design had been chosen by Morrisons. The design means an awful lot to me as the charity supported me through my illness.

“The words on the bag are particularly special and important to me and I hope they make other people feel positive when they read them.”

Enna, who is also a huge Harry Potter fan, decided to apply to Middlesbrough College to pursue her dreams of becoming a set designer after being inspired by a trip to Warner Brother Studios in London.

She said: “I am really enjoying studying my Production Arts course at Middlesbrough College. I absolutely love seeing sets come to life and I know that the skills and experience I am gaining from my course will help me to achieve my career ambition of working in set design.

“My tutors and classmates at Middlesbrough College are so supportive and lovely. I would definitely recommend studying here, especially if you are a creative individual with a passion for design.”

Enna’s tutor, Linda Kearsey said:

“Everyone at Middlesbrough College is incredibly proud of Enna, she truly is an inspiration. Enna is a stunning designer and she can look forward to a bright future in technical theatre.”

CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. The charity and Morrisons have been in partnership since 2017 and have so far raised over £13 million for young people just like Enna.
