Leading Chartered Surveyors Support Next Generation of Property Talent

James Bailey

In line with National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW21) (8-12 Feb 2021), National Chartered Surveyors, @BrutonKnowles, is championing efforts to support the next generation of talent through its apprenticeship programme, which offers the opportunity to fast track into the property industry.

The challenging job market for young people has been highlighted by the Government’s recently launched Kick Start programme, which provides funding to employers to create job placements. Now, the focus is on businesses to continue to drive opportunities forward and Bruton Knowles is in the process of securing two Kick Start placements this year.

The placements will feed into Bruton Knowles’ apprenticeship programme and create opportunities for those embarking on new careers, to enter the property industry, nurturing the next wave of talent. The leading property firm believes it is vital that entry level opportunities are made available, particularly now during times of economic uncertainty.

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles comments: “Opening doors for new talent to enter the industry is vital to the growth and development of the property sector. It’s why we feel it is incredibly important to continue to expand on our apprenticeship programme, at a time when many other opportunities are no longer available.”

Bruton Knowles works in partnership with accredited apprenticeship programme providers across the UK, with leading colleges and universities, to support its apprentices with high level training to gain the required qualifications needed to become Chartered Surveyors.

Taken on with either GCSEs or A-Levels, Bruton Knowles’ apprenticeship programme offers the opportunity, once training has been completed, to continue with the business and progress a career through practical and professional experience with accredited qualifications.

Neil Young, HR Director at Bruton Knowles, comments: “We always welcome, passionate and driven individuals who will add value to the team by bringing new innovative ideas and ambition into the business. So far we have seen great success from the apprentices working with us and are keen to take one if not two additional apprentices this year as part of our ongoing apprenticeship programme.”

Bruton Knowles currently has three apprentices with plans to take on more this year. Within its Commercial Team’s Gloucester office, James Williamson and Phoebe Harmer are currently completing a Level 6 Degree apprenticeship to become Chartered Surveyors.

In addition, Nicola Thacker has completed a Business Administration Level 2 apprenticeship and has now progressed to Level 3 through Protocol Training, working alongside the National Valuation Team in Birmingham.

Bruton Knowles has 10 offices across the UK and last year, as part of its wider company restructure and expansion programme, the ambitious property firm announced the launch of two new teams, Utilities and Infrastructure and National Valuations. Who work alongside Planning and Land Development, Commercial and Rural.
