From education to employment

Leeds City College becomes first in Yorkshire to launch Student Platform

Leeds City College Students’ Union has recently announced the launch of its new online Student Platform. The digital savings platform will allow students and staff to access thousands of national and local deals and discounts.

As well as offering vouchers and product deals, the Student Platform will also include a ‘local deals’ area, so businesses can upload discounts in order to promote their products and services. Businesses can also offer employment opportunities and work experience and volunteering opportunities. West Yorkshire-based businesses can claim a free month of membership to try out this new service by signing up to the platform at https://lccsu.studentplatform.uk

There is also potential for Leeds City College students to work with the Students’ Union to help gain the support of local businesses. Steven Richards, Activities & Engagement Manager, said: “Opportunities such as this offer students the chance to develop important skills and enhance their employability. It will also strengthen our ties with the local business community, and we’re excited about the future of Student Platform.”

Jamie Dunn, Director of Spark Global Education, said: “The site provides students with exclusive offerings that cannot be found elsewhere on other savings sites, so the Student Platform really does provide a unique service. We’re also currently working with the Students’ Union team to create a blog and other features to further enhance the students’ experience at Leeds City College.”

For more information about how businesses can sign up to the platform and claim the first month of membership for absolutely free, contact the Leeds City College Students’ Union at [email protected] or visit the platform: https://lccsu.studentplatform.uk
