LSEC wins funding to further support students during Covid

LSEC

London South East Colleges (@SLEColleges) has secured almost £200,000 from the Mayor of London’s COVID-19 Emergency Recovery Support Fund (ERSF).

This funding will be used by the college to strengthen its blended learning and online teaching delivery – including additional laptops for students and cameras for classrooms so that lessons can be streamed live.

The College has already invested heavily in ensuring its campuses are fully Covid-compliant, but this additional funding will support further re-modelling work so that students have safe places to learn, eat and relax.

The GLA tendered the funding to help ensure colleges could continue to provide high quality provision under the current Covid-19 restrictions.

David Lambert, Deputy CEO and principal at London South Colleges, says:

“It is a challenging time for all education providers but our focus remains on ensuring our students can continue to learn safely and achieve their qualifications. This GLA funding will support our blended learning provision, meaning that students having to remain at home will have access to equipment and teaching – and won’t be educationally disadvantaged by the pandemic.

“The re-modelling of various indoor and outdoor spaces will also help ensure safety and wellbeing of all our staff and students, giving our community reassurance that our campuses are safe places to be.”
