From education to employment

Outstanding Engineering Apprenticeships

A Cheshire based training provider has been judged as Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors in their recent July 2017 inspection.

TTE Training Limited (TTE) in Ellesmere Port, which provides education and training for process manufacturing and engineering employers throughout the North West of England, achieved an ‘Outstanding’ in every headline category in Ofsted’s Common Inspection Framework.

Nick Smith, TTE’s CEO, said that this was a fantastic achievement and reflected the dedication and professionalism of TTE’s staff. Nick said he was also very proud of the fact that TTE were the only engineering training provider in the region to have achieved a Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’ under Ofsted’s new inspection framework.

The Ofsted report, published in August, said that Apprentices make outstanding progress on their programme and that they develop very relevant skills which their employers value greatly. The report also said that Apprenticeship achievement rates are very high and significantly above national rates and those for similar providers.

The report said that Learners on TTE’s 16 to 19 study programme are prepared thoroughly for their next steps and the majority progress to employment or apprenticeships in the engineering industry. The August report also said that achievement rates for 16- to 19-year-old learners on study programmes are good and broadly in line with national rates and considerably above those of similar providers.

Copies of TTE’s Ofsted report can be obtained via Ofsted or TTE’s website.
