Reading, 13th December 2016 – Padworth College, leading independent senior school and advocate of global citizenship and diversity, is thrilled to announce that it will be offering two new day scholarship opportunities for the next academic year starting in September 2017 – one for Year 9 entry and one for Year 12 entry.
Padworth College prides itself on fostering global and cultural individuality and has over 30 different nationalities residing at the school. Now the College would like to offer the opportunity for students slightly closer to home to embrace and experience its unique approach to learning and living. At Padworth there is no school uniform, communication is on a first name basis and the school mixes English tradition with world cultures to promote individuality and global citizenship.
Scholarship applicants will attend an interview day at the College where Year 9 candidates will sit English and Maths exams, as well as complete a ‘Padworth task’ which will involve delivering a short presentation. Year 12 hopefuls should arrive equipped with their GCSE Maths and English predicted results, and will also be invited to partake in a ‘Padworth task’. The scholarships will offer a fee remission of up to 80%.
Padworth College has also just secured ownership of its buildings and land, which will allow the school to proceed further with development plans to reflect its ideologies. The scholarships are another step towards making the school an all-embracing environment, welcoming young people from different backgrounds. John Aguilar, Principal of Padworth is elated at the prospect of offering this opportunity to students in the local area who will be able to benefit from being part of a global community, where individuals matter.
The application deadline for the scholarships is 26th January 2017, followed by the entrance exams and interviews on 28th January.
