From education to employment

Protocol granted Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

Protocol, a leading education, training, skills and public sector recruitment business have recently been granted the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) ran by the Ministry of Defence.

Protocol, who also recently pledged to officially continue their support of armed forces personnel and their families by signing the Armed Forces Covenant; have always had support and fair treatment for current and former service personnel embedded within their own internal recruitment policy and business operations.

Ian Sackree, Chief Executive at Protocol said:

“As a former Army Reservist and current Colonel Cadets at HQ 7 Infantry Brigade I have a particular affinity and passion for people who serve or have served with our Armed Forces and Cadet Forces. At Protocol we recognise the value that people who have uniformed service experience bring to our organisation and to our many clients’ organisations. Not only do we recognise their selfless service to the Crown but we also proactively work with them – helping them secure new jobs in education and training and positioning them to share their incredible skills and experiences with the next generation.”

A Bronze Award is granted to employers who pledge to support the armed forces, are open to employing reservists and veterans and uphold the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.

Joanna Jagiello Head of Marketing & Engagement added:

“The further education and training sector’s skills shortage, particularly across the engineering and multi skills subjects, offers a host of opportunity for our serving and ex-forces personnel. We’re finding some extraordinary talent from the forces, either already geared up for working in education or with the relevant cores skills and attributes to become great trainers, assessors and mentors – we really enjoy working with these candidates and helping them along with their career plans”.

Offering a variety of opportunities from permanent work through to contract and flexible hours, working with Protocol can really complement existing forces commitments and often open up post forces career opportunities.

Serving and ex-service personnel who would like to consider working within education are encouraged to contact the Protocol Team.
