Royal recognition for Coventry College

Coventry College

@coventrycollege has received a Royal thanks for its efforts during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The city’s leading further education provider has been awarded a UK Business Heroes Stamp as part of a campaign by the British Chambers of Commerce.

The College was one of the organisations to receive a letter from HRH The Countess of Wessex thanking businesses that have gone the extra mile in recent months.

Coventry College was nominated for the award by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.

To date the College has donated more than 4,000 individual gloves, 60 pairs of goggles and 100 face masks to the NHS – with staff also signing up as NHS Volunteer Responders.

The college has also engaged in a range of fundraising initiatives over the course of the pandemic and now its efforts have been recognised with the new UK Business Heroes Stamp.

Carol Thomas, Principal and CEO at Coventry College, said: “Our staff and students have gone above and beyond since the world changed back in March, and it is a great honour to have received this recognition from HRH The Countess of Wessex and the British Chambers of Commerce.

“We’re very proud of all the work and initiatives that have taken place, and we will endeavour to continue making a positive impact on our community over the coming months and years.”
