Scotland’s colleges overtake digital ambitions during pandemic
Today, CDN (@ColDevNet) published new research into the impact of the pandemic on the digital skills of staff working in colleges across the whole of Scotland.
The research report, ‘Digital Capability – A Scottish Landscape Review’ reveals that in the short period between the start of the pandemic in March 2020, and the summer term of 2020, Scotland’s colleges adapted and switched so rapidly and effectively to online learning, teaching, and student engagement, that they overtook previous digital ambitions planned for development over several years.
Commissioned by the CDN Research and Enhancement Centre, the report examines how the digital skills frameworks adopted by Scottish colleges prepared staff for the rapid change to remote delivery during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

The report includes practical outputs to support the sector to develop further the digital capabilities of the college workforce, building on the significant progress that has been made since March 2020.
