Following months of virtual and in-person classes during the COVID pandemic, students at The City Academy Hackney have received their A-level and BTEC results today.
The students achieved a 66% pass rate in grades A* to B, with 47% of students achieving all of their grades at A* to B. Thirteen per cent of students achieved A* to A in all of their subjects.
Some of the highest performing students include:
- Josh Diebel– awarded A*AA – to study PPE at Durham
- Kia Scott– awarded A*A*A – to study Law at Liverpool
- Julia Sinchukovska– A*A*A – to study Economics at Warwick
- Jamie Sonmez: A*A*A* – to study Computer Science at Manchester
- Fahri Yilmaz:A*A*A – to study Accounting and Management at Queen Mary
- Krupali Vassantcumar:A*A*A* – to study Politics and International Relations at Birmingham
Headteacher of The City Academy Hackney, Mark Malcolm, said:
“Students at The City Academy, Hackney, are celebrating the best ever set of A level and BTEC results this year.
“Despite the seemingly endless and challenging circumstances of the last year-and-a-half, our resilient and hard-working students have achieved outstanding grades, and most of them will be advancing to degree courses, many of them at Russell group universities, including Biochemistry, Nursing, and Architecture.
“A few students have secured prestigious degree apprenticeships in KPMG, TfL, Vodafone and BT.
“The staff at The City Academy, Hackney, are enormously proud of all the students’ achievements and wish them great success in their future studies and careers.”
