Tameside College construction students benefit from investment in the latest industry tooling

Tameside College Construction Department has forged links with an international tooling company to train the construction workforce of tomorrow.

The college has teamed up with Festool, which has 90 years’ experience of supplying power tools to the construction industry. The £50,000 investment will ensure students develop new skills with some of the best equipment available on the market. Festool supplies quality electric and pneumatic tools for professionals specifically for use within the construction industry. Learners will benefit from investment by practising their skills prior to entering the world of work within a dynamic and ever-changing construction industry.

The ‘Tools for Schools ‘package from Festool , offered exclusively to educational institutions, includes: drills, plunge saws, compound mitre saws, routers, jig saw and sanders all supported by M-class extraction systems that meet the latest industry health & Safety standards. The state-of-the-art equipment will support the college’s growing curriculum in the brick, painting and joinery sectors.

The partnership will be critical in ensuring we have industry standard environments in which our learners can develop leading edge skills.”
