From education to employment

ETF seeks Trustees with industry expertise

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) – the expert body for professional development and standards in the Further Education (FE) and Training sector – is seeking applications to become Trustees of the organisation from individuals who can bring industry and employer perspectives to its Board.

Up to two individuals who have a deep interest in contributing to strategic decision making and improving the delivery of education and training in the FE and Training sector are sought.

Successful applicants will contribute to the Board’s understanding of industry and employer challenges, having worked at director level in industry or with a large employer, worked with Government through large contracts and/or grants, and led large-scale change programmes in a sector where change is a constant.

The ETF and its Board values and recognises the benefits of diversity and welcomes applications from individuals from all backgrounds, particularly from young, disabled and/or Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals.

The appointed individuals will make a real difference to the UK’s education and training profession, and ultimately the lives and opportunities of those they teach and train.

The time commitment for the positions is expected to be between eight and 12 days per year. Board meetings are primarily held in central London, with virtual options provided for committees and informal meetings. Appointments are made for three years, with the potential for one further term. These are not paid positions, but expenses are paid. Support with train and accommodation booking can be provided, if needed.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 14 January 2022. Find out more on the ETF website.
