From education to employment

Calendar website first of its kind to cover all events in FE and WBL sectors

Our sister site FE Careers ““ the specialist Further Education and Work Based Learning job advertising site – is celebrating its third birthday with the launch of three new websites this month. The first to be launched is www.FEevents.co.uk

FE Events is an education event information and calendar service. Visitors can search and view the latest Events in Further Education and plan their diaries to attend the most appropriate exhibitions, conferences, workshops and seminars in the education industry.

The CEO of FE Careers and FE Events, Gavin explains the service “As you know we are celebrating our third birthday at FE Careers and FE News.co.uk. We have been developing FE Events for the past six months and it is now ready as a present to our visitors and advertisers.

“The idea first came to me as we were receiving regular requests from advertisers and visitors to develop a site promoting all of the education events across FE, Work Based Learning, Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies and Sector Skills Councils. For the past year we have been receiving literally six to seven requests per week, every week from event organisers who had nowhere to promote their events. It was a case of see a need, fill a need!”

FE Events is full of cutting edge technology with custom RSS fields as one of Gavin’s favourites. He explains: “I fell in love with RSS back in 2005. With FE Events advertisers and visitors alike can select pre- planned RSS feeds on event info, or they can customise them to suit their own requirements, so they can really keep up to date with the most relevant event details. If they are a visitor or if they are an event organiser they are able to use RSS technology to keep multiple event websites up to date, whilst only having to administer FE Events.co.uk ““ it is the same theory that we had with FE Careers, identifying a definite industry need that also saves time and money.”

Gavin continues: “The Further Education sector is so vast, incorporating Colleges, Training Providers, Charities, Sector Skills Councils, Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies, Adult Education and Community Education. All with their own conferences and their own events. How the FE industry has got by without FE Events.co.uk is beyond me. When the site fully rolls out, then visitors will be able to make really informed choices on what event is best for them and ultimately their learners.”

“FE Events is also a natural fit with FE News as the majority of large industry changing announcements happen at FE Events. We are also launching two more sites that will further compliment and intrinsically link FE Careers, FE News and FE Events. We are audience driven, our web service is made solely for the whole Further Education industry. We are now extending our services into a one stop shop for the whole FE industry.”

Event submissions on FE Events are free until 31st January 2008. Click here for more information: www.feevents.co.uk
