From education to employment

New teaching approach for diplomas with launch of Serif’s Design Suite

A new teaching approach for the 14-19 diplomas was outlined yesterday with the launch of Design Suite by Serif.

Unveiled at the BETT show at London’s Olympia, the new software will enable teachers to plan lessons more effectively. The new supporting resources will also provide teachers with a better understanding of employer’s expectations of diploma students.

The new technology, which is VLE compliant incorporates bitmap and vector tools, digital video editing, desktop and web publishing and will also include video based student projects.

Colin Hussey, Education Business Manager of Serif, explained: "We feel Designsuite will be seen as quite accessible and easy to use.

"Its impact will enable teacher to deliver creative and complex projects. As the resources are produced in pdf format, teachers don’t need to spend hours learning about the software and preparing teaching resources."
