Adrian Chiles Shares Expertise with Barton Peveril Students

Adrian Chiles

National television and radio presenter Adrian Chiles offered Barton Peveril Sixth Form College (@bartonpeveril) students an insight into his career, as part of the College’s Aspire Programme. Giving the lecture via video call, Chiles shared his journey from student to well-known presenter to educate and inspire the new First Year Barton Peveril students.

Chiles has worked across a number of notable television and radio projects from Match of the Day 2 to the One Show and was the first speaker for this year’s Aspire Programme. The Aspire Programme helps the College’s high-achieving students attain their educational goals, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to secure places on the most competitive degree courses, apprenticeships, and jobs.

Adrian Chiles commented on giving the lecture to Barton Peveril’s new Aspire students:

“I’m always keen to speak to teenagers, especially those in state schools. If there’s anything I can say to help them look forward to tackling the lives ahead of them, I’m more than happy to share it. I wish I’d met them in person. I could tell from the questions they posted for me that they’re full of intelligence, curiosity and, most importantly, fun.”

Speaking on Chiles’ lecture, Barton Peveril Careers Manager, Shoonagh Hubble, said:

“Thanks to presenter Adrian Chiles for delivering the opening talk to Barton Peveril’s new Aspire students. His insights into celebrity, mental health and how you define “success” made him the perfect Aspire role model. Adrian’s message, that what you want to know is much more important than what you know, provided an ideal mantra for the upcoming two years at college. We’re looking forward to many more diverse and stimulating Aspire talks to come!”
