Big Boss Party wins Havering College mock election
Public Services students based at our Quarles campus staged a mock election as part of their course, creating political parties with candidates and manifestos.
Each candidate gave a speech about their vision for the future which was followed by a Q&A and debate, with the election taking place shortly after.
Different voting systems were explained and used, such as First Past the Post and Alternative Voting. The winner of the election was the Big Boss Party, which promised to install ‘Pink Guy’ as the Mayor of London!
The students also visited Parliament last week to see how laws are made.
