Blue Cross inspires Animal Care students

Helen, Blue Cross Education Officer, discussed the services and care the charity provides to animals, how they support pet owners to help their pets, their rehoming centres and the range of jobs available working in animal welfare.

The students took the opportunity to ask how they can use their animal care qualifications to help prevent animal cruelty, the volunteering opportunities at Blue Cross and how to pursue a career in animal welfare.

Blue Cross helps thousands of cats, dogs, small pets and horses in their animal hospitals, clinics and rehoming services for treatment and to find them the happy homes they deserve.

Helen said: “Our vision is that every pet will one day enjoy a healthy life in a happy home. One of the ways we do this is by educating the pet owners of the future. It was pleasure to talk to the Animal Care students at Barnsley College.”

Sarah Ellis, a Level 3 Animal Care student, added: “I did the talk with Blue Cross and I really enjoyed it. The information that was given was so interesting and shows how important the organisation and staff are. I would love to be part of it at some point and get involved.”
