.@BordersCollege is best when it comes to training

Borders College is delighted to announce its successful inclusion in a potentially lucrative suppliers framework operated by the City of Edinburgh Council, Midlothian Council and Scottish Borders Council.

The framework allows the Business Development Unit (BDU), at Borders College, to tender for the supplying of training and development in Health and Social Care and First Aid Training.

Managing Director of the Business Development Unit, Deirdre McKendry commented: “We have a first class reputation for delivering and developing bespoke training solutions for a wide range of clients and this latest addition to the suppliers framework allows us to at least showcase and offer competitive tenders for the needs of the various councils.”

Going forward the BDU will be given the opportunity to carry out any training needs analysis required, develop bespoke training programmes and quote for any potential business.

The Business Development Unit is no stranger to Edinburgh and the Lothians with offices and a training suite at the Newington Business Centre in Edinburgh. This compliments the training provision currently offered in the Borders allowing the BDU to provide training either in their own premises or at any other suitable location.

The major strength of the Unit is in the team of industry specialists who work with organisations to identify the most appropriate learning route for employees and offer a full range of interventions from short courses to certificated work-based learning.

The BDU works with employers to find business solutions and staff development opportunities throughout the United Kingdom at a time and place to suit their needs, and ensuring that they deliver the training required to assist in business growth and product development.
