From education to employment

Edinburgh College joins Collab Group

Collab Group is proud to announce Edinburgh College as its newest member. Edinburgh College will become the third Scottish member, joining North East Scotland College and West College Scotland, providing Collab Group representation in every capital city within the United Kingdom.

Edinburgh College is a vital education hub in Scotland with 19,000 students across four campuses and 30 other centres. The college reflects a strong commitment to industry-focused education provision, training over 2,000 apprentices every year in partnerships with 1,700 employers.

The college enjoys a strong reputation for quality with high pass rates and excellent teaching and learning across a variety of subject areas.

Its four priority sectors, which include Engineering and Built Environment; Health, Wellbeing and Social Sciences; Creative Industries; and Tourism, Hospitality and Business, are well aligned with the sector focus of Collab Group and its member colleges.

As a dynamic and forward-thinking education provider, Edinburgh College is a fitting addition to the Collab Group membership. The inclusion of the college will strengthen the dynamic network of Collab Group colleges and increase opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.

Ian Pretty, Collab Group CEO, said:

I am delighted that Edinburgh College has come onboard as Collab Group’s newest member. The college’s inclusion means we will now have a presence in all four capital cities within the UK and an impressive footing in Scotland—a sign of our continued growth and appeal. We welcome Annette Bruton, her team and Edinburgh College into the Collab Group network; we greatly look forward to their participation going forward.”

Annette Bruton, Principal of Edinburgh College, said:

This is a proud moment for the college and it’s a privilege to be part of an organisation that is doing such great work in developing the UK’s further education sector. Collaboration, partnerships and the sharing of expertise are essential to our success, so joining Collab Group will lead to more opportunities that will benefit our students, staff and our communities.

We’re looking forward to learning from our FE colleagues across the country and to sharing our own expertise, to help strengthen FE’s position in the education community.

Ian McKay, Chair of Edinburgh College’s Board of Management, said:

“Joining Collab Group is an important milestone for the college. Being part of such a dynamic organisation fits very well with our plans to develop partnerships and mutually beneficial networks. We look forward to working alongside our fellow Collab Group members in the drive for innovation and furthering our ambitions for leading the sector in delivering life-changing education.”
