Jess Widdowson, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College

Talent United, the employer engagement initiative run by @BarnsleyCollege, will host a free virtual masterclass on Wednesday 14 October, 1.30pm to 3.00pm.

Kate Dean, Director of Enable Disability and Inclusion Consultants Ltd. will be delivering the informal event for employers who wish to better understand the impact of neurodiversity on the workplace.

The interactive masterclass will cover the different types and characteristics of neurodiversity, highlighting significant strengths and potential challenges whilst emphasising the practical steps that can be taken to remove barriers to high performance.

Kate said:

“There has been an increased awareness of neurodiversity in recent years and recognition of the benefits it can bring to a business. Employing a wide range of people with different skills and mindsets maximises problem solving, creativity and continuous improvement. I’m looking forward to joining Talent United to introduce the challenges and opportunities for employers in this area.”

Jess Widdowson, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College, said:

“We Are very much looking forward to welcoming Kate to our virtual  masterclass series to discuss a theme that is relevant to all employers. We host regular partner-led masterclasses on a variety of themes from wellbeing to business growth. The sessions are designed to develop key skills and they are open to everyone, bringing local businesses together with College staff and students. Despite having to move online due to the Coronavirus pandemic these sessions have remained popular and that is testament to the quality of the presentations, themes, audiences and discussions.”
