Scholarship success for International student

Jarrett Zhang is celebrating after being awarded a £180,000 scholarship from the Rio Tinto mining company to study Geology at Imperial College London.

Jarrett, who achieved two A* grades and one A in his recent A Level exams, will receive £45,000 per year, over a four-year period, to cover tuition fees and living expenses. The Rio Tinto scholarship was awarded to just two students in 2019 so this is a fantastic achievement.

Jarrett also celebrated sporting success this year when he won the 2019 Welsh Colleges table tennis championships.

A huge well done from everyone at Gower College Swansea – we are all very proud of your achievements and wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavours!
