Student job seekers turn out in force!
The NPTC Group of Colleges’ Jobs Fair attracted a huge turnout recently with over 500 keen job hunters attending the event looking for work.
The fair, organised by NPTC Recruit, allowed College students to access employers who are recruiting, especially those seeking seasonal Christmas work. The fair also provided the opportunity for people to talk to company representatives and see how they could boost their skills and job prospects.
Around fifteen organisations took part in the successful annual event including some well-known companies including South Wales Police, Blanco’s Hotel, The Towers Hotel, Pizza Hut, Dominoes and Compass Group who recruit for employers such as the Liberty Stadium.
Neath Port Talbot’s Council for Voluntary Services (NPT CVS) were also on hand to give student’s information on the many voluntary placements available in the area, something that’s always beneficial to a CV or university application.
NPTC Recruit was launched as a recruitment agency to help students secure employment.
Cara Mead, NPTC Group of Colleges’ Enterprise and Employability Officer, said:
“Building on the success of recent years, the NPTC Recruit Jobs Fair attracted a fantastic range of companies offering part-time and voluntary placements to our students. Some students were able to apply on the spot, and we have already had confirmation from companies that many students have been invited to interview.”
