Turn the university dream to reality with an Access to HE qualification

It’s never too late to make the dream of going to university a reality.

For those who left school without the necessary qualifications, the Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma could be the answer to achieving the right level of academic success in order to get there.

Courses are a fast-track route into higher education for adults aged 19 and over, opening the door to a huge range of careers in the health and social care sector. Careers such as a Paramedic, Nurse, Health Service Manager; or Further Education Teacher, Dietitian, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapist.

Access to HE courses also remove another common obstacle facing many students, of costs, as they’re funded via Adult Learner Loans which aren’t repaid if the student progresses onto, and achieves their qualification at university.

Household income isn’t taken into account when applying for an Adult Learner Loan, there’s no credit check and no upper age limit.

“Also, as courses are sector specific, students gain vital knowledge and skills relating to their chosen careers.”

Access to HE – Health and Social Care

Entry requirements to study are a GCSE 4/D or above in English and maths and the course lasts between 12-18 months.

This route is ideal if looking to gain a job in roles such as Community Worker, Further Education Teacher, Health Promotion Specialist, Health Service Manager or as an Adult Nurse.

Access to HE – Allied Health Professionals

Entry requirements to study are a GCSE 4/D or above in English and maths and the course lasts between 12-18 months.

Job opportunities available once studies are completed include working as a Podiatrist, Dietitian, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Paramedic.
