Urdang Graduate, Ivano Turco Inspires Musical Theatre and Dance students by Landing Fairytale Role

Graduate Ivano Turco

Urdang 2020 Graduate Ivano Turco, has recently been announced as having landed a leading role, straight out of college, as Prince Sebastian in the brand new production of the musical Cinderella from Andrew Lloyd Webber.

In what has been an uncertain and challenging year for the sector, this exciting announcement brings hope for all other graduates as well as students currently training in Musical Theatre and Dance.

Ivano originally auditioned for a role in the production as a dancer, but his natural acting talent and wonderful singing voice led to him being cast in a leading role.

Ivano comments ā€œItā€™s still sinking in – Iā€™m a 2020 graduate from drama school.  This year has not been the best for the arts, it has been a really dry spell for the industry during lockdown. Somehow I managed to find my way into the audition room for Cinderella, initially for a dancing role and the rest is history. To be honest I am struggling to believe that it really happened. I am so very thankful that I have this opportunity to do what I love doing.ā€

Solange Urdang, CEO of The Urdang Academy, Londonā€™s leading Musical Theatre and Dance college says;

ā€œEveryone at Urdang is so proud to hear of Ivanoā€™s success.  To be cast in this leading role is a fantastic debut for a recent graduate, and is a testament to Ivanoā€™s talent and skill. This exciting news will inspire all our students as they embark on their professional careers after their training.ā€

Cinderella is due to open at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in the spring. Ivano also released his first single ā€˜Only You, Lonely Youā€™ from the new Cinderella Musical on Friday 11th December.
