From education to employment

Busy Bees Nurseries recruiting 700 apprentices across the UK

Busy Bees, the UK’s leading provider of early years childcare, is launching its biggest-ever hunt for new talent as it looks to recruit 700 new apprentices across the UK in 2022.

Applications are now open for the award-winning apprenticeship scheme, offering the opportunity to become an Early Years Educator within two years and earn industry-leading rates of pay whilst training.*

With two new apprentice roles available at each of Busy Bees’ 350 centres across the UK, successful candidates will have the chance to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education, whilst also gaining practical experience in creating a happy and safe environment in which children can play and learn.

The childcare provider hopes that successful applicants will go on to build long careers within the early years sector. Each new recruit will be guaranteed a permanent job with Busy Bees on the successful completion of their apprenticeship, plus the chance to go on and study a Level 5 qualification to become an Early Years Practitioner. Those who join the apprenticeship programme between now and the end of March 2022 will also land a £1,000 bonus on completion of their Level 3 qualification.

Chris McCandless, Chief Operating Officer at Busy Bees, said:

“The early years sector is just one of those facing a significant staffing challenge in the wake of the pandemic. That’s why we’re making this vital investment now, to secure and nurture talent coming into our industry which will enable us to continue supporting parents whilst helping their children get the best start in life.”

Sandy Silvester, Director of Operations for Busy Bees Education and Training, said:

“Educating young children is an incredibly important and rewarding job. From their first day on the job, our early years practitioners play a key role in ensuring that our Busy Bees children are happy, safe and having fun as they learn and play.

“By taking part in our apprenticeship scheme, applicants will be rewarded with a market-leading salary and the chance to continue acquiring new skills and qualifications throughout their career. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is dedicated to caring for children and will always put the child’s happiness at the heart of everything they do.”

Busy Bees Education and Training is a leading provider of training for the early years sector, and in 2018 was awarded the inaugural Queens Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity.  Handed out on the Queen’s 92nd birthday, the award recognises Busy Bees’ social mobility programme and commitment to quality training for early years apprentices.
