#InclusiveFE: Advancing equality in the FE sector

Teresa Carroll, the Education and Training Foundation’s National Head of Inclusion

At the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) we want to ensure that everybody who learns and works in our sector feels like they belong. That’s why we’re making #InclusiveFE a part of every conversation and providing a wealth of learning materials and opportunities for those in the sector to continually develop their understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

We know that the Further Education (FE) and Training sector plays a huge role in ensuring that people living and working in our communities achieve their aspirations. After all, our sector serves everyone in society, including people who are often marginalised and underrepresented in education and training. Through offering lifelong learning, our sector supports the journey towards social justice.

The latest addition to our #InclusiveFE space is a brand-new course titled ‘Advancing equality in the FE sector’. The course is for everyone who works in FE to develop their knowledge and understanding of the importance of EDI. There are lots of thought-provoking materials to encourage discussion across your organisations and this flexible, accessible online course is delivered through four one-hour sessions, allowing you to study at your own pace.

Teresa Carroll, National Head of Inclusion at the ETF said:

“We are dedicated to creating an #InclusiveFE sector and want our workforce and curriculum to reflect the learners they teach and the communities they serve. By providing learning opportunities and interesting resources, we hope to work with the sector to create an inclusive FE sector.”

This course offers you a valuable opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge and help our sector become all around a more #InclusiveFE.
