London South East Colleges appoints new Principal
London South East Colleges (@LSEColleges) has successfully appointed Asfa Sohail as its new College Principal & Chief Learning Officer.
Joining from Lewisham College (part of NCG) where she has been the College Principal for almost three years, Asfa is an experienced College Principal and strategic curriculum leader, with significant knowledge and experience of inspection and quality measures applied to Further Education.
Asfa takes on the role at London South East Colleges from David Lambert, who was successfully appointed to the role of Group Chief Technology & Information Officer earlier this month.
Group Principal and CEO, Dr Sam Parrett CBE, says:
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Asfa to the College. Her passion for teaching and learning and her commitment to providing a high-quality education experience for all students will be a huge benefit to our organisation.
“As the country moves forward post-pandemic, the Government’s focus on skills is putting Further Education at the heart of the economic recovery. Asfa’s appointment will strengthen our ability to deliver the best provision for learners across the region. We very much look forward to her joining our dedicated team.”
Asfa, who will take up her new post in the New Year says:
“I am really delighted to join a forward-looking organisation and a very committed team. I believe my passion aligns with what LSEC is trying to achieve. I have always believed that education is not just about achieving qualifications but much more than that.
“I am excited to join an organisation that truly believes in this through their commitment to innovation, social action and community cohesiveness.”
