Oxford International Education Group has appointed Dr David Pilsbury as Chief Development Officer
Oxford International Education Group has appointed Dr David Pilsbury as Chief Development Officer to lead the Group’s Higher Education growth and development strategy. Until recently, David was Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International, at Coventry University, where he was responsible for a 6-fold increase in overseas student recruitment, establishing the UK’s largest overseas collaborative delivery programme with over 20,000 students in almost 30 countries, and creating the world’s largest global enhancement programme, including making Coventry No.1 for outbound mobility for 5 years running.
He holds several Board level and advisory positions, including JISC, China Britain Business Council, Times Higher Education Student, StudyPortals and the Hainan Provincial Government. He recently stepped down as Co-chair of the UUK International Pro-Vice Chancellors Group following a successful tenure steering new approaches to the future of Global Engagement. Following a D.Phil and postdoctoral research at Oxford University, David spent several years in strategic consultancy and investment banking before moving into HE at HEFCE. He then became CEO of the Worldwide Universities Network.
David’s appointment further strengthens Oxford International’s HE senior leadership team following closely on from the appointment of Andy Palmer as Managing Director of the University Partnerships Division and the earlier appointments of Andy Caldwell as Global Recruitment Director, Dr Steven Herron, as Pathways Programmes Director, and Alina Paduraru, Head of Operations.
These appointments create an ambitious and expert senior HE team under Group CEO Lil Bremermann-Richard, appointed in 2019. Oxford International is now positioned at the forefront of the international HE sector and demonstrating its intent to be the leading force in creating education and mobility opportunities for international students through innovative approaches, deep partnerships, bespoke relationships and high-quality execution.
