From education to employment

Filton College makes top ten FE colleges

Things keep getting better for Filton College with another year of improved academic achievement in exam results.

Improvements were seen in both GCSEs and A levels, with GCSEs seeing a 96% pass rate, and Sixth Form students achieving 100% pass rate in 20 A2 subjects.

As a result of another year of strong results, Filton College now ranks in the top 10% of General Further Education Colleges in the Country in qualification success rates.

“This is the best year Filton College has ever had; a fantastic achievement,” said Vice Principal Nigel Eagers.

“I am always very pleased and proud when I hear students, many of whom are taking A levels, talk to our Governors about the support they receive from teaching staff at the College.”

Eagers believes the support students receive from his staff is the main reason for the success seen at Filton College.

He said: “College staff challenge and support in equal measure. It is reflected in the very high value added scores received.

“We try harder. And we succeed. I maintain that through the efforts of our staff we now stand out in many areas of our work. A brilliant effort!”
