From education to employment

Alliance Manchester Business School and Renmin School of Business launch joint-Global MBA

Alliance Manchester Business School (Alliance MBS) and Renmin University of China’s School of Business (RBS) are launching a joint-MBA programme leading to degrees from both institutions.

The new Global MBA brings together two top-50 business schools with a combined legacy of over 100 years of innovation in business and management education.

The programme will combine Alliance MBS’ business education expertise and international presence, with RBS’ knowledge of eastern management practices and close links with industry.

Aiming to equip students with the skills to succeed in a competitive and complex global business environment, the programme provides access to leading academics from both institutions. In addition, and drawing on industry links from both Schools, the programme will bring practitioners as well as academics into the classroom.

“RBS is deeply-rooted within the local business world; we have very close engagement with the business community in China” says Professor Jiye Mao, Dean of RBS.

He adds: “We hope to leverage Alliance MBS’ global footprint and blended learning expertise to offer students a second-to-none global learning experience.”

The new programme will offer students the chance to study in China’s political, cultural and educational centre – Beijing – whilst benefitting from a unique residential workshop in one of Alliance MBS’ international centres in Manchester, Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Brazil.

Professor Elaine Ferneley, Alliance MBS’ Global and MBA Director said: “This is another exciting international partnership for Alliance MBS as we strengthen our global offer. Our core values are about transforming people and I am confident our joint-MBA will deliver.

“The programme will give our students the opportunity to benefit from a truly international education whilst accessing unique insights into Chinese management practices.”

The first cohort is expected to join the programme in July 2017.
