Apprentices signed to Dagenham and Redbridge FC

Five Barking & Dagenham College (@BarkingCollege) sports apprentices have been signed to Dagenham and Redbridge FC.

The five are: Daniel Obi, 18, from Dagenham, Ellis Lawson, 16, from South Woodford, Junior Nkwonta, 17, of Grays, Billy Lawlor, 17 from Colchester and Aaron Blair, 21, from Hornchurch.

Apprentice Daniel Obi, 18 commented:

“I am very pleased to be given this opportunity at the Club and Barking & Dagenham College – both have excellent reputations.”

On their apprenticeship, they are enrolled on an Apprenticeship Level 3 in Sporting Excellence Professional which has them attending college one day per week and working at the football club 4 days a week.

On hearing news of their signing, Errol Parker, head of sport at Barking & Dagenham College said:

“We are really pleased to have these apprentices and continue working in partnership with Dagenham and Redbridge FC to identify talent in the local and wider community. The apprentices will be good role models and help support the attainment of an apprenticeship for the future if they perform well in both education and on the pitch.”
