#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek It’s Everyone’s Business

This Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th May 2019, The Business Show have partnered with Mental Health Charity Mind for the second year in a row, to raise awareness on how pivotal Mental Health is especially during the week of Mental Health Awareness, and how it impacts individuals and Entrepreneurs within Business and in the workplace.

According to Mind, approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year, including depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, panic disorder and more.

This year, the two-day event, which welcomes over 20,000 visitors per season, is set to have three Keynote Speakers and Experts, Penny Power OBE, British Author and Speaker, Dominic Arnall, Head of Programme Management for Mind, alongside Bruce Daisley, European Vice-President for Twitter  who will be speaking on both days around the stigma of mental health, and how it has affected their personal and professional journeys. 

Penny Power OBE will be sharing her personal experience managing the mental challenges of being an ambitious entrepreneur. She founded Ecademy in 1998 with her husband Thomas Power and CEO Glenn Watkins, with the aim of helping business people achieve success through online tools, community, and friendship,

Dominic Arnall, Head of Programme Management for Mind will talk about “Tackling Mental Health Stigma And Discrimination In The Workplace”, as he works specifically on the Time to Change campaign, the largest mental health campaign in the UK by Mind, which focuses on encouraging people to talk about their issues and reduce the stigma and discrimination. 

Bruce will share his tips on “Rediscovering The Joy Of Work” and what are the lessons that we can learn from science on how to make work better. Bruce is also the host of the UK’s number one business podcast Eat Sleep Work Repeat, in which he interviews psychologists, neuroscientists, and workplace experts to understand how we can improve our jobs.
