Hugh Tollyfield, BIS, discusses the future of FE and qualifications

Hugh Tollyfield, deputy director of Further Education and qualifications strategy at BIS, discusses two key areas: Skills for Life strategy and the transition from Key Skills into Functional Skills.

Mr Tollyfield explains how BIS is completing a study of the UK’s workforce to see what progress has been made around literacy and numeracy. This involves investigating some 3,250,000 qualifications and whether they deliver the essential skills required by both learners and employers.
