Andras House Collaborate with local College to Develop Leaders

Once again South Eastern Regional College (SERC) has prepared individuals to thrive in the workplace by up-skilling local businesses with nationally recognised leadership and management qualifications.

Andreas House Ltd, a leading property development and hospitality company, based in Belfast, has benefitted from specialist Leadership and Management training, a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) endorsed course, to help raise the skill base of their management team.

At a ceremony which took place at the company’s Crown Plaza Hotel in Shaws Bridge, the company celebrated the achievement of 8 staff on completion of ‘Bridging the Gap’ management programme. The certificates were presented by Andras House Director Rajesh Rana and SERC tutor Jane Burns.

Participants on the course completed a CMI level 5 leadership and management qualification and a work-based project.

Andras House Director Rajesh Rana said: “Recognising the importance of exceptional leadership skills, and building on existing skills, the bespoke training was delivered to enhance skills and ensure we remain competitive in an ever-changing environment. Andras House is committed to continual investment in our workforce and we are thrilled to avail of the advanced training opportunity offered by SERC.”

“We pride ourselves in keeping our staff up to date with the latest skills and we are confident the course will have a direct impact on the competitiveness of the company. The programme will enable us to identify and nurture existing talent within our organisation which is critical to our continued growth and success.”

Elaine Flynn Head of Commercial Contracts at SERC said: “I commend the investment in skills development by Andras House which clearly demonstrates a keenness to further develop the success of the company. Companies demand specialist training programmes to meet their specific needs and we have the expertise, equipment and flexibility to deliver this. We understand how hard it is for businesses to upskill employees. That’s why we make it as easy as possible for participants by working with them to minimise the impact of releasing staff. It’s a real partnership.”

The new programme was launched earlier this year in response to the well documented leadership skills deficit in Northern Ireland. The programme focuses on building management competencies and is designed for existing managers, as well as staff new to management and those who will be taking on additional management responsibilities.  It provides staff with the opportunity to gain a comprehensive, in-depth and practical understanding of key areas of management
