Hallie Lopez-Wells spreads a little joy on World Down Syndrome Day

16 year old Hallie Lopez-Wells, an Enterprise and Entrepreneurship student at Barking & Dagenham College, has been spreading a little happiness at college today.

She explains: “Today I am giving out small presents and flowers to random people as a random act of kindness, to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day (21 March 2019).

“I was inspired by my brother, who has Down Syndrome and how he gives me and my family so much love; so, on World Down Syndrome Day we pay his kindness forwards, to bring joy everybody else.”

Giuditta Meneghetti, Curriculum Team Leader for Business and Public Sector at the College adds: “Hallie is a very proactive member of the Enterprise department at the College and raises awareness of many social issues within the context of her course.

“We’re pleased to support Hallie and to raise awareness and celebrate with her the diversity of learners who attend Barking & Dagenham College.”
