JACK PARSONS, FORMER APPRENTICE BACKS THE UK’S FIRST CLEARING LINE FOR ALTERNATIVES TO UNIVERSITY AS IT OPENS THIS ON A LEVEL RESULTS DAY.

Jack Parsons, CEO of Big Youth Group joins with learning provider QA to open the UK’s first clearing line for people who want an alternative to university.

The clearing line – which will be open on A level results day will give school and college leavers access to over 500 opportunities at businesses right across the country. Companies including innovative tech startups and huge tech leaders like Vodafone, Cisco and BT are working with QA to offer apprenticeships.

As well as offering a career from day one, the apprenticeship opportunities on offer also lead to higher-level qualifications, equivalent to awards from universities.

On top of running Big Youth Group Jack advises a number of organisations on young people, including QA.

Jack, is an award-winning young entrepreneur, public speaker and youth expert with awards including: Young Digital Leader of The Year, The 100 Faces of a Vibrant Economy, Most Connected Young Entrepreneur and Top 10 UK Young Entrepreneurs to Watch.

Jack’s goal for Big Youth Group is to build the world’s largest most connected marketplace and community for young people with one aim: to help young people achieve their full potential.

Jack said “University isn’t for everyone. You have options and undertaking an apprenticeship could be that option. The majority of the apprentices at QA earn £200 a week and some on software or cyber apprenticeships earn £400 which is just brilliant”

Jack will be answering the hotline which will match callers with a placement in a career that suits them. Among those answering the phones will be careers advisors, plus people who have successfully completed apprenticeships, as well as employers offering apprenticeships.
