Call to run a project to strengthen skills provision and increase workforce productivity in Sheffield City Region LEP area.

Details

2 strands are issued within this call, applicants can submit applications to deliver one or both of them. The strands have a clear focus on working with educators and business to strengthen skills provision and increase workforce productivity. There should also be innovation and equity of opportunity through active engagement with relevant institutions and employers, particularly SMEs and micro businesses. Activities will be demonstrably co-designed with local partners, specifically employers and key stakeholders in the FE and HE sector.

Strand 1 should provide support for collaborative projects, placements, internships or other activities with SMEs and micro businesses that enable students and graduates to gain industry-relevant experience and skills which can be in turn absorbed to strengthen future course content.

Strand 2 should work with SMEs and micro businesses to strengthen employment practice with a focus on strengthening opportunities for those disadvantaged in the work place (e.g mental or physical disability, English as a second language etc) through knowledge transfer programmes, industry-based projects etc. For example, supporting SMEs to calculate and analyse their gender pay gap and create an action plan to address issues.

The project must cover the Sheffield City Region LEP area.

Value

Approximately Ā£3,062,551 of ESF is available.

Deadlines

Full application deadline: 12 August 2019

Completion date

Projects must be completed no later than 3 years and 6 months after the proposed project start date, however the ESF Managing Authority reserves the right to vary the maximum duration in exceptional circumstances. All ESF Projects must be completed by 31st December 2023. Project costs cannot be incurred beyond this date.

To apply for funding under this call you will need to complete and submit your Full Application via the ECLAIMS IT System.

Full Applications submitted in the ECLAIMS IT System after the call closing date shown above and on the call specification will not be appraised.

You will need to request an External Access Form for each person in your organisation who requires access.

It is your responsibility to ensure you request and activate your ECLAIMS access in sufficient time. We strongly advise that you obtain and activate your ECLAIMS access at least 2 weeks prior to the advertised call closure date, if not sooner.
