From education to employment

Barking & Dagenham College holds prom celebrations online

In the week that should have seen them take part in their end of year prom, students from @BarkingCollege instead joined their classmates online for a celebration of their success.

The students, who are all studying English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), have worked incredibly hard during these tough times.

Their dedication to their studies despite the difficulties of lockdown gave lecturers the idea to hold an online ‘prom celebration’ so they could reward the students for their efforts.

During the event the students were presented with certificates of achievement.

ESOL lecturer, Arnauld Bobo, said:

“Everyone contributed towards this great event and it went really well.  It made us realise as teachers how important it has been to have online lessons, especially for new students while we have been in lockdown, as it has given routine and structure to them.”

Arnauld continued: “The event has allowed us to acknowledge how hard our students have worked during this time.  They have been outstanding.  Well done to everyone.”
